So melodramatic and over the top I thought this was tongue in cheek at first. I pity anyone who lives in the bleak, hopeless world described by the author. I daresay our problems and perspectives are a bit more complex than the way they are explicated here, and anyone who has worked with people knows that insight and awareness are not zero-sum achievements, but dynamic processes and "Truth" with a capital T is an oversimplification of reality. I agree that anger-based, self-righteous brainwashing and demagoguery is the poison of our times, but abject despair based on those same illusions can only increase the breadth and depth of the "slavery" bemoaned by the author. No matter how lyrically we curse the world we live in, light yet remains both within ourselves and within the world at-large.
