I've read various contradictory analysis of this: some people say only the kaiju movies are copyrighted, but specific kaiju characters/concepts (i.e. mothra, godzilla, rodan, etc.) are in the public domain. Others say all of it is trademarked, and that even the term "kaiju" itself is trademarked. What is your take on this? Thank you for posting the commentary.
